MUNGER: Principal magistrate of juvenile justice board-cum-judicial magistrate Navin Kumar Dubey on Sunday lodged an FIR against juvenile prisoner Sanjeev Kumar (name changed) for threatening to kill him before he fled the remand home here on Saturday. Sanjeev belonged to Sah Jubair road under Purabsarai police outpost area in the district. The threat to a judicial officer comes hardly a fortnight after additional district and sessions judge (ADJ) Jyoti Swaroop Shrivastava had received a threat message on his mobile phone and later through a letter for awarding capital punishment to five Maoists.Police said Sanjeev was arrested about six months back for allegedly killing a person and was lodged in the remand home. The principal magistrate had rejected his bail plea on June 8 considering serious charges against him.The accused threatened to shoot him. Dubey did not take the threat seriously. On Sunday, at least four employees of the remand home informed the principal magistrate that Sanjeev was openly saying he would kill him for rejecting his bail. It was then that he informed the district judge, Munger, about the incident in writing.
District judge Shushma Sinha immediately informed the superintendent of police who directed the Kotwali police to lodge an FIR against the juvenile prisoner. The magistrate has also requested for security guard at his residence which is near the remand home,” said police.“A team led by Sreeram Chaudhry, inspector of Kotwali police station, has been formed to nab the absconding accused,” said Munger SP Ashish Bharti.
